director and writer thibaud delpeut (1978) studied clinical psychology and neuropsychology at the university of nijmegen and theatre directing at the amsterdam high school of the arts. he graduated in 2006 with his own play vinex (about xenophobia and suburban ‘angst').

he has since been working at toneelschuur haarlem, where he directed his own play de g variaties (a mosaic inspired by bach's goldberg variations and the highschool shootings in erfurt and columbine). at the nationale toneel in den haag he wrote and directed two new plays: entr'acte (a dialogue for an actress and a stockbroker) and naar schotland (about a suburban family suicide).

since 2007 he works with toneelgroep amsterdam where he directed britannicus by jean racine (co-production with toneelschuur producties) and is currently working on antigone-kreon-oidipous, his adaptation of sophocles' theban tragedies which will open march 2009.

future projects include a location theatre production with the working title ‘hondsnacht' (dognight), an allegory about ‘the myth of civilisation, cruelty and the noble art of screenwriting' (with toneelschuur producties). furthermore he is writing a new play, which will eventually be part of a cycle of four works, loosely based on the legend of orpheus and eurydice,

he teaches at the theatre directing departement of the amsterdam high school of the arts.
