Susanne Kennedy (1977) was born in Germany and studied theatre science in Mainz and at the Sorbonne in Paris. In 2001 she came to the Netherlands where she studied theatre directing at the Theaterschool in Amsterdam. She graduated in 2005 and has since worked at the Theater Gasthuis in Amsterdam where she did some research work like Variations on Jackie O. (2006)  and BARBIE DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE (2007). She also directed Electronic City by Falk Richter (2007). Furthermore she works at the Nationale Theater in Den Haag where she directed Phaedra’s Love by Sarah Kane (selected by the Theaterfestival in 2007) and Täglich Brot by Gesine Danckwart (2008). In 2007 she was invited to be part of the International Forum in Berlin during the Theatertreffen. In December 2008 she is directing Hedda Gabler at the Nationale Toneel in Den Haag and in 2009 Platz der Republik by Katharina Schmitt at the Staatstheater Oldenburg in Germany.
