anouk van dijk is a amsterdam based choreographer, dancer, teacher and artistic director of anoukvandijk dc. in her work anouk researches the role of the dancer/performer in relation to the audience and to contexts that can rock and disturb the dancer¹s world. the historical context of dance, the role of the audience and reflecting/reacting on other worlds are anouk¹s main focus. recently she made a cover of situation, a 40 year old dance classic by the old dancemaster hans van manen, and created a work for chinese dancers in beijing.  she collaborates with sound engineers and programmers, lightdesigners and composers. for 15 years anouk has worked on developing a training method for dancers, the countertechnique, which enables dancers to operate on different awareness levels while dancing, allowing for an extreme range of motions. her dance company travels all around the world, performing, teaching masterclasses and initiates collaborations with local organisations and dancers, in recent years a.o. in china, russia, switzerland, the united states.
