All New WidgetWell Version!

A new layout designer, a grid tool, a stretch tool, a new way of editing widgets, an image-uploader/editor and a new user-interface. Is there anything not new in WidgetWell? Guess not.

Thanx to all users who tried the first private beta many bugs and issues were found. What also became apparent was that the layout design tool wasn't really fit for doing what users wanted it to do: while it allowed anyone to place layers anywhere, most users were trying to create some sort of grid with the tool. Something the tool wasn't really fit for. Time to rethink it all. Out goes the old, in comes the new...

Here's a short runthrough of some of the most eye-catching changes:

Image uploader and advanced image editor
Many people requested an easier way of adding images to their site and editing them. So here it is: we've integrated WidgetWell with FotoFlexer, a versatile image-editor allowing you not only to simply resize, crop or rotate your image, but even allows you to use all sorts of image filters and advanced editing functions!

The Grid Creator
The grid creator allows you to easily create your own column-based site structure, and then edit it using the design tool.

Pre-built but completely editable Themes
We can all use a little inspiration, or at least a starting-point when creating our own website. Choose a theme, and then customize it by changing colors, fonts, changing borders, adding images or even resizing the theme: each theme is literally flexible using the new:

Stretch-tool
The new stretch-tool allows you to resize nearly every element in your site: colums, design elements, but you can even resize your whole site! Maybe you want a long but narrow site, or maybe you want a site that has a fixed height. The Stretch-tool is all yours!

Full-screen widget-editing
In the previous WidgetWell version it was sometimes hard to edit your widget, especially if the widget was placed in a narrow column. No longer will you need careful fingers, each widget can now be edited in a floating window! And even better: you can update your widget while you are editing, so you immediately see the effect of your changes!

Help and documentation
Though WidgetWell has become much more intuïtive with this update, we've also added a help-function containing extensive illustrated documentation.

Well, besides these BIG FOUR there are loads of other improvements and bug fixes, making this version much more intuïtive and stable. What are you waiting for? Go on, get building!
